Infant killed in accidental shooting after toddler finds gun in SUV in Texas

A baby is dead after a tragic shooting involving a toddler in a parked car at the Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center. Police say an 11-month-old was shot by one of two other children inside the vehicle while waiting for an adult attending a medical appointment.

🔍 What’s Happening:

• According to San Antonio Police, the adult and three small children—aged 3, 2, and 11 months—were waiting in the SUV for a medical appointment.

• A loaded firearm, left unsecured in the rear of the vehicle, was discovered by one of the toddlers. The child discharged the weapon, killing the infant. The child was identified as Khamari Lang, who would have turned one next month.

🚨 Between the Lines: Authorities are urging gun owners to take steps to ensure that firearms are secured in vehicles, especially around children.

• Police have not announced charges yet but said that improper gun storage inside a vehicle is a serious risk.
