Eric Cobb, a former college basketball player who played for the University of Connecticut and the University of South Carolina, has been arrested in Jacksonville, Florida, for the murder of his mother.
The Details: Jacksonville Sheriff’s deputies found 51-year-old Erika Winford unresponsive in the backyard of a home on 15th Street West in the Mid-Westside area. She had suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say her body was wrapped in a blanket and towels.
Cobb, 28, was detained as he attempted to leave the home. After an interview with detectives, he was taken into custody and booked into the Duval County Jail.
